The principle of the peristaltic hose pump is based on alternating contraction and relaxation of the hose forcing the contents through, operating in a similar way to our throat and intestines.

A smooth wall, flexible hose is fitted in the pump casing, which is completely squeezed by the shoes on the rotor, inside the pump casing. The rotation action moves the product through the hose at a constant rate of displacement without slip, making the pump suitable for high dosing applications and pressure ratings up to 16 bar /230 psi.

The hose restitution after the squeeze produces an almost full vacuum that draws the product in the hose, so very viscous liquids are pumped without problems using the VERDERFLEX hose pump. The pump casing is half-filled with a specially designed VERDERLUBE, to lubricate and cool the pump to lengthen service life of the hose. Since the product only comes in contact with the hose and not with any rotating parts, the hose pump is very suitable for shear sensitive fluids even when the liquid contains particles.

  Exact dosing
With the VERDERFLEX pump a fixed amount of liquid is delivered each and every rotation. This feature makes the pump ideal for dosing applications in the brewing industry e.g. diatomaceous earth, mash, stabilizers and caramels.

  High pressure
By employing the latest hose technologies and the use of the rotor shoe principle, high operational differential pressures can be generated. This makes the VERDERFLEX tube pump excellent for filter press feed applications.

  Self priming
The VERDERFLEX has remarkable self-priming capabilities up to 9,5 mwc. The pump performs well when applied to drawing viscous liquids from tanks, even when mounted at the surface above the liquid level.

  Dry running
Being sealless in its design the VERDERFLEX pump can run dry for prolonged periods without damage. The combination of good self-priming and dry running capabilities, make the pump especially suitable for pumping viscous gas entrained fluids such as yeast.

  Abrasive products
The VERDERFLEX pump does not employ any valves or shaft seals. This combined with the flexibility of the tube, enable solids and abrasive products to be pumped efficiently. In comparison to conventional pumps this results in a reduction in both the expense on spare parts, as well as the cost of production down time for repairs.

  Hermetically sealed
The VERDERFLEX tube pump is a hermetically closed unit. This means that the chance of the ingress of infections and the contamination of product, because of wearing seals or packings is totally eliminated.

No leaks, because there are no seals
The VERDERFLEX hose pump is totally leak free. As a means of transport, the pump and the pipes form a closed system.

  Low amounts of investment
The VERDERFLEX hose pumps are available in 10 sizes with nominal diameter widths of 10 to 125mm and transport capacities of 10 l/h to 80 m3/h. The pump can be developed as necessary to a complete system by the addition of a regulator, pressure sensors, hose rupture detection system or pulsation dampener. The required level of investment is feasible even for small budgets.

  Low requirement for replacement parts
The hose is the only part of the pump, which is subject to abrasion. The hose of the VERDERFLEX pump has been developed specifically for hard, industrial use. The textile inlay of the VERDERFLEX hose ensures stability of pressure. The high flexibility and elasticity of the hose were designed to optimise the lifespan of the hose.

  High quality guarantees long lifetime
The production process of the VERDERFLEX hose ensures that it is manufactured within such narrow tolerances that there is no need to grind the surface of the hose, as usually happens. This improves the resistance of the hose in turn and contributes to the sustained improvement in lifespan. This optimisation also means that the maintenance cycle for hose pumps is no longer an issue. The hoses are designed for continuous operation; as the only wearing part, the hose can be replaced quickly and simply. This significantly reduces expenditure on spare parts storage and operating costs.
