The MRT North-East Line (NEL) is one of the several major projects that has surfaced in the last few years since the economic crisis. The MRT NEL project covers 16 MRT stations, a depot and an administration and operations building for the Land & Transport Authority. Asiatic Engineering was able to secure a part of this vast infrastructure development in supplying and installing equipment worth a total of S$1.85 million for the air-conditioning (A/C) system. Our piece of the pie includes supply of pumps for the A/C system and also the supply and assembly of the cooling towers for all the stations. One of the most outstanding stations would be the MRT Changi Airport station in which we supplied a 2700RTonne Shinwa Cooling Tower. The station which is the gateway to visitors from abroad, has its design leaning towards avant-garde and appeals to most people.
